Sexual Harrassment On The Job: Not To Be Tolerated
|
The United States Government protects all workers from being harassed at work because of sex. If you, or someone you know, believes they are being sexually harassed, you can take action and bring the harassment to a stop and force the harasser to answer for his or her actions. An harassment attorney can tell you if the instances are truly instances of sexual harassment. It must be noted that there have been certified cases where female supervisors and managers have been found guilty of harassing male subordinates. Sexual harassment is not limited to male bosses and female subordinates. Men who have found themselves in a sexual harassment situation report feelings just as violated and vulnerable as their female counterparts do. Occasionally, an employee has reported sexual harassment from a fellow employee, not someone in management. These cases need to be addressed as well. A law firm with good harassment attorneys can answer all of your questions regarding sexual harassment. What constitutes sexual harassment? What is acceptable behavior between supervisors and their subordinates? What rights do the subordinates have regarding job protection and freedom from sexual harassment? These are all good questions and deserve to be thoroughly addressed. Anyone who thinks they are being sexually harassed needs to take action sooner rather than later to make the harassment stop. Sexual harassment is demeaning and can become frightening if allowed to continue unchecked. Ideally, you will never need a sexual harassment attorney. If you feel you are being harassed at the work place, you will report it and management will resolve the issue for you. Unfortunately, that is often not the case. You may be forced to go outside your company to get the issue resolved. When looking for a sexual harassment lawyer, look for one who is experienced in the courtroom with these kinds of cases. You may not ever need to see the inside of a courtroom. Your sexual Harassment Attorney may be able to get the issue resolved without having to go to court and protect your identity and your job. That is not always the case so be prepared to allow your attorney to handle the case to its satisfactory conclusion if an out of court settlement is not possible. You deserve not to be sexually harassed. If you are being harassed, you deserve to have that action stopped and to be compensated for the difficult time you had to endure. Trust your attorney to do the job you hired him or her to do.

Defining Sexual Harassment - Isiah Thomas and Browne Sanders
By Paul Davis
How do you define sexual harassment? A federal jury awarded Anucha Browne Sanders $11.6 million to be paid by Madison Square Garden and its chairman for damages in a sexual harassment lawsuit. It seems (pending appeal) the jury found NY Knicks coach Isiah Thomas made unwanted advances to Browne Sanders and also verbally insulted her.
